Transition to new manufactured housing carrier AIG
Last year, Arrowhead Manufactured Housing, which provides coverage for manufactured home communities and dealers, RV parks, and destination RV resorts, adopted AIG Programs Insurance as its new carrier. This resulted in 200 new policies bound in 2023, the largest being $900,000 in premium.
“We moved to AIG Programs to expand our coverage offerings, expand our availability to more states and provide more flexibility,” explained Jackie Miller, senior vice president, Manufactured Housing. “Even better, we successfully transitioned our book with very little lost business.”
Bonnie Muir, program manager at AIG Programs agrees, “We couldn’t be happier about the seamless transition of the Manufactured Housing Program to AIG, and to be partnered with Arrowhead, a leader in this industry. The underwriting team at Arrowhead really exemplifies what we’re looking for in partnership and are true experts in this space.”
Additional AIG coverages and member companies
After adding a proprietary Umbrella product, the Arrowhead Manufactured Housing Program expanded to 49 states, including 34 states on an admitted basis. Arrowhead also added AIG’s Crisis Response® coverage and gained access to six of AIG’s member companies, whereas prior to the carrier change they relied on just two companies. Furthermore, a cyber product is in the works for release in the near future.
“Several competitors have exited the space or have begun limiting their offerings. And some carriers don’t seem to want to offer coverage at all, not even plans that exclude Wind and Hail. As those other carriers have become more restrictive, they’ve provided us with more opportunities for profitable growth with AIG,” added Becky Holt, Arrowhead business development director.
“We have a deep understanding of this class of business, so we’re able to focus on the type of accounts that are within our appetite. We also have the ability to be flexible and carve out what we can write, and focus on that with the retail brokers,” explained Holt.
Miller added, “Another big plus is that we’re able to comply with many lenders’ insurance requirements in a way that other programs simply cannot. In other words, lenders like what we offer because it helps to get customers to the closing table faster.”
“In addition to a comprehensive package product with AIG, our Manufactured Housing team strives to provide a customer experience that is quick and seamless for our retail brokers,” said Miller. “We’re well-positioned for growth, and with AIG, I think we’ll see more growth more quickly.”
Arrowhead’s Manufactured Housing Program: testimonials from satisfied producers
“Jackie Miller heads the Arrowhead Group Manufactured Home Community insurance program. With over 20 years of program management experience, she and her team understand community operations, risks, insurance terms and complicated lender insurance requirements. Coverages available include general liability, EPLI, hired/non-owned auto, loss of income on lot rents, and property coverage on community buildings and improvements. Their geographic footprint is one of the widest in this specialty area. They can insure locations and properties many can’t. There’s a reason they are a go-to market for our agents.” – Kurt D. Kelley, J.D., president – Mobile Insurance
“The Arrowhead mobile home park program has been a consistent product, effectively filling a need for our MHP clients located all over the country. Mobile home park owner insurance is a difficult class of business to place property and liability coverage on, so having access to a program that is proven in claim situations and fairly priced has helped retention of existing clients, and our ability to target new clients.” – Louis Serro, senior vice president, Brown & Brown Insurance
